If you have installed Canvas earlier than 9/1/2018, this might apply to you. 

Symptoms

  • Assignment due dates not syncing
  • Assignment available dates not syncing
  • Assignment showing as published unexpectedly
  • Students missing a first or last name

Solution

To solve all of the problems above, you can follow the video below to update all of the information our platform has access to. Updating these fields will help make sure we have all of the information we need to provide the best experience possible. 

Instructions

  1. Navigate to your course
  2. Select the "Settings" option
  3. Click on the "Apps" tab
  4. Click on "View App Configurations"

    5. Navigate to the “Notebowl” row.  Click on the cog wheel and select “Edit”.

    6. Scroll down to “Custom Fields” and paste the new Custom Fields into the text box.

    7. After pasting the values into the text box, scroll to the bottom of the dialog and click "Submit". See the video below for further details.
