This article covers rounding grades and changing the decimal points included in your grades on NoteBowl.

Rounding Grades and Changing Decimal Points

1. Log in to your course on NoteBowl

2. Click on the left of NoteBowl to the course you would like to edit rounding or decimal points.

3. Click the gear icon on the top of the page, above the navigation tabs (circled in green below).

Rounding Grades

There are three rounding settings on NoteBowl. Select the one that is most appropriate for your course:

1. Round Down: Students' grades will be rounded down to the Decimal Precision selected. For example:

Assuming 1 as the decimal precision, for ROUND DOWN, a grade of 80.66666, will display as 80.6%. For a grade of 80.3333, NoteBowl will display the grade as 80.3%

2. Round Normally: Students' grades will be rounded normally according to the Decimal Precision selected. For example:

Assuming 1 as the decimal precision, for ROUND NORMALLY, a grade of 80.66666, will display as 80.7%. For a grade of 80.3333, NoteBowl will display the grade as 80.3%

3. Round Up: Students' grades will be rounded up according to the Decimal Precision selected. For example:

Assuming 1 as the decimal precision, for ROUND UP, a grade of 80.66666, will display as 80.7%. For a grade of 80.3333, NoteBowl will display the grade as 80.4%

Decimal Precision

As an instructor, you can change the number of decimal points shown for grades on NoteBowl. Your selection will also determine factors associated with the rounding of grades. See the above section for more information.
